Quartz Countertops - A Great Alternative to Granite

Engineered stone , also known as quartz, is a durable artificial countertop material, which contains 93% natural quartz and 7% color and binding agents. It has been widely used ins for over a decade. This is a material that should be handled and treated as you would Granite or any other natural countertop . It is not a cheap substitute for Granite, it is an alternative.
It is regarded as a wonderful alternative material to use for thes. When people ask me if they should use Quartz or Granites, I usually reply to them that they are very similar in performance and the place for them to start is by checking the color pallets.

Usually available in a wide variety of natural looking colors, quartz is also available in many designer colors that you will not find in nature. From lime green, yellow, bright blue to warm natural looking colors, quartz is very versatile. For most aspects ofs, you need to handle and treat quartz as you would granite . It is very heavy so you need to make sure that it is on a sound platform. It will need to have supports for overhangs over 10" or so. It is not seamless as with solid surface, but many installers can create a seam that is minimal.
